Job Description

The purpose of the role and the major reason why this position exists.

  • To increase Global Snapshots revenue from existing and potential Nielsen customers in Japan
  • To proactively create and identify new growth opportunities for Global Snapshots and achieve Global Snapshots sales targets
  • To execute lead generation and new business activities for Global Snapshots and convert them into business

 

Job Duties

  1. Business Performance
    • Achieves and Exceeds team objectives and revenue targets
    • Is accountable for Japan Total Global Snapshot revenue
    • Is accountable for Global Snapshots revenue at assigned client portfolio
    • To proactively create and identify new growth opportunities
    • Acts One Nielsen service model and contributes to projects and initiatives to drive the Global Snapshots business
    • Coaching and Supports others to grow team performance
    • Manages relationships in the team as well as local countries

 

  1. Business Development
    • Acts as a member of ONE Nielsen team and contributes to projects and initiatives to drive the Global Snapshots business, like building prospecting plans, sales campaign material, pipeline, creation of sales collateral, KPI tracking, product extension etc.
    • Identifies opportunities to sell Nielsen Global Snapshots to a broad range of existing clients / prospects, by identifying white space among local Nielsen client base and non-traditional Nielsen clients and industries.

 

  1. Lead Generation and Sales
  • Works closely with other local Business Units to identify and bring in leads for Global Snapshots from their client base.
  • Manage client expectations and translate needs to project requirements
  • Conducts the end-to-end sales process on Global Snapshots leads in the most effective way: assesses the need, qualifies the lead, conducts or briefs on availability check, writes convincing proposals, follows up, negotiates and closes the deal.

 

  1. Relationship Management
  • Manages relationships with GS Sales and Delivery team as well as other Business Units in Japan
  • Influence at client board room level and owner of a business
  • Effectively brief delivery teams on project requirements
  • Liaises closely with Operations Snapshot delivery teams and management to brief on availability requests and project requirements and understand capabilities to best manage client expectations.
  • Liaises with peers in Business Development across countries to share best practice and contribute to business development initiatives.

 

Required

  • A graduate with client service experience, dealing with FMCG manufacturers
  • An interest in working in an international environment
  • A self-starter with good interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Strongly results orientated, with the ability and strong desire to sell.
  • Excellent negotiation and sales skills
  • Strong business & financial acumen (incl. business environment and client)
  • Good people management skills – relevant for some roles
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Communicates assertively, logically, succinctly and persuasively with clients/senior personnel for common understanding
  • Has confidence and clarity at expressing own opinion to colleagues and clients.  Prepared to be challenged.  Supports assertions.
  • Supports and encourages colleagues to find new approaches that add value to clients
