Position Title: Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

 

Make an impact every day as the Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) writing code to automatically verify our quality, define the test strategy, technologies, and implement new processes/tools to streamline our quality. Provide the technical leadership and expertise to inform the vision for Nielsen Rhiza’s Quality Assurance team. Work hand-in-hand with Nielsen Rhiza product owners, engineers, and designers to deliver cutting-edge software in a family-friendly environment.

 

  • Design and implement automated test suites in a fast-paced agile environment using Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, & Continuous Deployment concepts to allow for efficient delivery of high-quality products
  • Mentor junior level staff and serve as the go-to resource regarding all things QA
  • Implement successful test strategies resulting in efficient test development and execution models
  • Drive the overall SDLC towards quality-centric automated methodologies
  • Execute tests, interpret results, and communicate on a regular basis, resulting in quick solutions to any quality concerns
  • Work on maintaining/building automated test infrastructure
  • Assist with product specifications (e.g. wish list, future development, new ideas, etc).
  • Support scrum team and product ownership in release management

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software or Quality Engineer or Software Engineer with coding skills in Java, Javascript, Python or other modern programming language (OOP) required
  • Understanding of test automation, test tool creation, automation frameworks required
  • Experience working with robust automated tests with a high level of maintainability
  • Experience  extracting use cases from functional requirements and client interaction and authoring test cases from these use cases and build to suit.
  • Knowledge of full software development life cycle, QA methodology, tools and software testing standards
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to utilize data to drive decisions
  • Shows creativity and initiative to improve test coverage and effectiveness
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or applicable, practical development work experience
  • Experience with Javascript (AngularJS) and Python unit testing and integration testing frameworks is ideal
  • Specific experience using protractor and Selenium (or similar end-to-end testing tools) is ideal
  • Experience with data pipeline (ETL/ELT) validation is ideal
