The Product Communications Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that Nielsen communicates promptly and accurately about its products and services to current clients. You will support the Client Communications Manager with crafting messages, gathering approvals and distributing client product notifications for Nielsen Global Media.  In addition, you will be asked to assist with set up of new reports in our Media online client libraries and to support the Global Media Client Communications team with various administrative tasks as needed. 

To succeed in this role, you will need to work in a fast-paced environment, be a strong technical writer who provides clear, client-friendly messaging and fast, thorough service to internal stakeholders. 



  • Responsible for drafting and distributing Nielsen client product notifications, ensuring that content is accurate and that approvals are received
  • Ensure that the content on Nielsen client-facing websites is up-to-date, including Nielsen Answers, client workspaces and client libraries
  • Prepare client-facing reports using tools like Google Docs and Adobe Acrobat, ensure those reports are posted in a timely manner
  • Ensure that Nielsen is prepared to communicate with clients rapidly, when needed, by updating client lists
  • Manage weekly product downtime notifications
  • Work with internal departments to implement updates and enhancements to client-facing resources as assigned (i.e. Media Libraries moving to new environment)
  • Analyze marketing and communication metrics and provide monthly updates
  • Although typically workdays are M-F, you must be available on assigned evenings and weekends to handle unplanned product notification needs



  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in English, Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing or related field)
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in communications or a related field
  • Existing knowledge of Nielsen products and services is a plus
  • Ability to translate complex, technical topics into simple and transparent messages
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to think strategically/see the big picture
  • Interpersonal skills - ability to work with others and “manage up”
  • Strong attention to detail is critical
  • Ability to execute at high level and under tight deadlines, often working late and sometimes on weekends
  • Understanding how to set priorities, being assertive when seeking answers
