Nielsen’s Planning Product team is looking for a skilled professional to join as SVP of Product Management, supporting Nielsen’s solutions for the Agency and Advertiser customer base on a global basis. In this role, you will be responsible for building and executing our planning tools strategy, including:

  • Adapting our planning product suite to better meet the needs of digital marketers and media agencies
  • Extending our cross media measurement (Nielsen ONE) to our planning tools and audience creation tools
  • Driving deeper cross-platform comparability between digital and traditional media currencies
  • Extending our tools to emerging platforms like Connected TVs
  • Enabling marketers to create advanced audience segmentation

 

Responsibilities and Objectives

  1. Manage, develop, and empower a team of product managers to build great products
  2. Live, breath, and evangelize agile product development practices across our product, technology, and data science teams
  3. Define and execute the strategy for our planning tools, in the US and Globally
  4. Own the roadmap and take personal accountability for executing against our Operating Plan and P&L
  5. Collaborate cross functionally with engineers, data scientists, vendors, product marketing, and business development to plan, develop, and deliver products
  6. Conduct user research and collaborate with our commercial leadership to ensure our strategy remains relevant and orients us for growth
  7. Develop and manage towards OKRs that track performance and align team incentives to our strategy
  8. Regularly review the competitive landscape and user feedback to improve product features and discover M&A opportunities

 

Qualifications

  • Experience building, managing, and upskilling a team of product managers in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial context
  • 8+ years in technical product management roles with extensive experience practicing, applying, and coaching others on Agile development principles
  • Ability to bring simplicity and structure to ambiguous problems with multiple external and internal stakeholders
  • Experience in marketing / media required, including domain expertise in any of the following areas:
    • Buyside experiences either with agencies or advertiser-direct (audience segmentation, programmatic activation etc.)
    • Digital / Cross-Platform advertiser and activation (e.g. orchestrating digital ad buys, executing digital / cross-platform campaigns, digital ad operations)
    • Marketing effectiveness measurement (e.g. attribution measurement, marketing mix modeling, sales lift measurement)
    • Strategic and tactical media planning (e.g. budget allocation, building cross platform or channel-specific media plans)
  • Preferred but not required: Technical knowledge of cross-platform media / behavior measurement technologies and data, including any of the following:
    • Media panels
    • Advertising technology (e.g. JS / pixel tags; data management platforms)
    • “Big data” media measurement sources (e.g. set top box, Smart TV data)
    • Data matching methods (e.g. cross-device data; online-to-offline Onboarding; PII matching and management)
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies, public cloud product architecture, and general software engineering practices
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling / machine learning techniques
  • Medium travel required
