About This Role: 
You will be working in a cross-functional team of statisticians, data scientists, software developers, and data engineers. In this diverse team, you will be building machine-learning solutions for some of the largest publishers and platforms. You will be creating a measurement solution for digital video that harnesses Nielsen’s treasure trove of labeled data in triangulation with server-based measurement. You will be testing and implementing models in production and presenting them to a range of audiences, including advertisers, publishers, and some of the world’s most influential data scientists at client companies. 

 

About You: 
You are knowledgeable about statistical and machine learning models and can explain them equally well to experts and laypersons. You comprehend complex problems quickly and are creative in finding solutions. You understand media measurement or are able to quickly pick up domain knowledge on the job. You write production-quality code and enjoy operationalizing your solutions at scale. You’re able to shift gears quickly and adapt to changing circumstances. You have experience working with teams and maintaining velocity in complex projects. You see the big picture and enjoy digging into the details. 

 

Necessary Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Social Science, Operation Research, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or related fields with outstanding analytical expertise;
  • 3+ years of experience; 
  • Proficient in Python, Spark, or Scala to develop sharable software with the appropriate technical documentation; 
  • Proficient in SQL and large-scale databases. 
  • Able to work alone and in a team; 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with a keen eye for detail;
  • Experience with taking the (technical) lead in projects; project management experience and working in an agile setting is a plus 
  • Experience with coaching junior colleagues is a plus. 
  • Interested in the media landscape and measurement methodologies. 

 

Other Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with cloud based or big data technologies (e.g. Databricks, Airflow);
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire); 
  • Experience with Atlassian suite.
