The Sales Effectiveness Practice Area at Nielsen is a team designed to deliver advanced solutions to our clients to help them prioritize their trade promotion and assortment strategies to make their products stand out.   Consulting engagements will be customizable by client issues and will leverage Nielsen’s advanced modeling capability in this area, as well as integrate as necessary across other Nielsen solutions/assets to create maximum client impact.


Project Lead responsibilities include:

Leading a team of analysts through the implementation of  Nielsen’s Sale Effectiveness advanced solutions, including model set-up, data collection, model result validation, and client presentations.

Identifying trade promotion and assortment opportunities, authoring client deliverables and presenting findings  to client stakeholders.

Developing strategic and tactical recommendations to address client issues based on an understanding of the client‘s business  and their category.

Working closely with our client contacts to leverage their resources and knowledge to achieve project goals and complete deliverables on-time.

Proactively researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and technical matters.

Mentoring analysts through each stage of the project  to develop their analytical skills.


The ideal candidate will have:

3-5 years related work experience; previous work experience at a Retailer or Manufacturer is an asset.

Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.

Strong analytical skills.  Able to cut through large amounts of data to find the key elements that are most crucial for our clients to understand to grow their business.

Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with pressing deadlines and constantly changing client needs and conditions.

Basic understanding of statistics and the ability to communicate complex ideas in easy to understand way.

Experience presenting in front of large groups and senior audiences, making bold recommendations to drive outcomes for our clients.

Knowledge of Nielsen data a significant asset.
