DESCRIPTION

 

Responsible for TV entertainment metadata product management for Gracenote’s data delivery platform: Collaborate with engineering leadership and architecture teams on the design and development of the platform. Work closely with existing and prospective clients and third-party vendor partners to understand their business problems related to delivery and ingestion of TV entertainment metadata into their backend solutions, and transform findings into a clear product vision and roadmap. Work closely with internal engineering teams, content editors, external partners and internal stakeholders to prioritize and deliver product roadmap that fulfills the product vision. Work closely with user experience (UX) and engineering teams to deliver critical platform tools for configuration and analytics. Ensure the design of application program interfaces (APIs) are consistent and follow best practices, owning the existing Gracenote Video Data (GVD) and API data delivery sets.  Work with data product managers to ensure that their additions of data elements to the APIs follow best practices. Work with different engineering SCRUM teams and their product owners to manage the priorities and backlog. Involves the option to telecommute from within the Emeryville, CA area for up to 2 days per week, as feasible. Involves domestic travel 3-5x/year for 1-2 days per trip.  Tools and technologies used include: SQL, Jira, Confluence, XML, JSON, and Python.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field with an information technology focus (foreign equivalent degree acceptable), plus 3 years of experience in software development for, and management of, metadata delivery platforms (would also accept a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience).  This must include 3 years of experience in/with: building highly-scalable platforms; XML, JSON, REST APIs, and writing SQL for Postgres and/or MySQL; scripting in Python, Ruby and/or JavaScript; working in an Agile/Scrum work environment on the technical side of product management; and writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance. Must be willing to travel domestically 3-5x/year for 1-2 days per trip.
