Retail Sr. Business Systems Analyst - Remote - 1717

Nielsen’s Retailer Engagement, a team within Input Operations, is responsible for all operations and technical activities related to our retailers. We work closely with our operations partners (Data Science, Reference Data and Field Operations, etc.) and Retailer Service in engaging with our retailers to ensure that we have reliable, accurate and timely delivery of retailer sales data.
 
***Please note retail experience IS required for this role***
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with client to analyze & understand Business requirements; gathered User, Functional and Nonfunctional requirements & translated the requirements into User Stories.
  • Establishes and maintains liaison relationship with business partners, Clients (retailers )  and IT organization in order to provide effective technical solutions
  • Document new issues and report the details to management, project managers, support specialists, system analysts, business managers and developers.  Provides assistance in documenting current business processes and models.  
  • Identifies, investigates, resolves and escalates problems as needed.   
  • Analyzes customer’s systems to understand strengths and weaknesses for the identification of opportunities for improvements.  Provides assistance in business case development (i.e., research, data collection).  performs write-up of the issue with resolutions.
  • Generate Client sales report from Raw data using SQL/Toad/Access and any other scripting language
Qualifications:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including problem solving, prioritizing and interpersonal relationship building.
  • Proven track record in making significant contributions to team efforts
  • Proven organizational and time management skills (ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines).
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to extract, transform, load and clean data sets from multiple sources.
  • Advanced working experience of SQL Query language
  • Familiarity managing, querying and aggregating large data in a Hadoop environment.  Experience with web analytics tools.
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient at complex business process modeling and data modeling concepts.
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux,  relational databases, Data Warehouse, Hadoop, private cloud
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google (Sheets, Slides and Docs)
  • Extensive knowledge in Retail specifically in POS and supply chain.
  • Bachelor's Degree  Computer Science  or Math.  
  • 5+ experience in Retail (Point of Sales, Supply Chain )
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Systems Analysis or Business Analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) /System Development Life Cycle
  • 5+ years of experience translating business requirements into a detailed system specifications
  • Proficiency in developing complex  SQL queries, good knowledge of relational database
  • Ability to effectively lead and influence multiple levels of an organization across functional boundaries.
  • Possesses solid working knowledge of relevant technology concepts (e.g. relational databases, mainframe, client-server and web-based architectures).
 
Preferred Qualification :
Master degree in Math or computer Sc
ITIL and BPI certifications
